All About our Spirometry

What is Spirometry?

Spirometry is the most common type of lung function or breathing test. This test measures how much air you can breathe in and out of your lungs, as well as how easily and fast you can the blow the air out of your lungs.

Why Spirometry is performed?

Your doctor may order spirometry if you have :

High Risk for Lung Disease :

  • SMOKERS

  • Individual in occupations with exposure to dangerous inhaled substance

Symptoms such as:

  • Shortness of Breath

  • Cough

  • Chest Discomfort

This can help diagnose problems like asthma, chronic obstructive airway disease (COPD), pulmonary fibrosis, or can be done to check lung function before a surgery.

You may also have spirometry done to determine if your disease is improving or worsening and whether your medications or inhalers are working properly.

*Contraindication: Hemoptysis(Active Tuberculosis-TB), Pneumothorax, Unstable Angina, Recent Myocardial Infarction, Aneurysms, recent eye/abdominal/thoracic surgery, and history of syncopal attack with forceful exhalation.

What You Need to Know

Time Allocation & Appointment

Please allocate around 30mins to complete our Spirometry. You're required to book our appointment one (1) day earlier via call, walk in or communicate with your respective clinic/doctor to book our slot also to provide a referral letter.

Registration

Please bring your NRIC or passport (for international customers) and any panel/insurance identity card (if applicable). It is advisable to check with us for the available panelship and insurance claimables.

Our Staff

Our Spirometry is performed by skilled Medical Assistant and reviewed by our Medical Doctor resulting in accurate findings.

Result

Depending on the appointments, results will be sent to patients directly or to referred clinic/doctor accordingly. You will receive the result within the next three (3) working days. This will however depend on whether it is the non-peak period or otherwise. Results will be available through QR code found on the payment receipt. Patients required to request for tele-consultation if required.
